We made a new friend during our #yinyoga #teachertraining ! We were outside working on some energetic touch and this little duck kept walking around us, looking for food. Finally she decided to walk into the middle of our circle and see what the commotion was all about!  Haha I had to snap a picture.

#yogawithTFM My favorite yoga pose is downward-facing dog. It is definitely my go to pose for anything. If I have a headache, down dog. If I need to decompress my spine and mind, down dog. If I want to get in an easy inversion, down dog. For me, this pose has always been my starting point, my base. I can feel where I’ve made progress with this dude and it feels awesome. It’s so easy to rest here now, and I can recall when it was hard to hold for 30 seconds. I love this pose. Thank you @laurasykora @masumi_g @twofitmoms #yoga

#back2bayZITS  catch-up. This is balasana, better known as child’s pose to most people (me included). I read the tips @cuchira made about this pose and I’ll definitely think of the active side when using this as a warm up pose, but this was definitely more of a resting pose today. I do like this one cuz it helps lengthen out my low back. And it’d help even more if I get that fire highway going though. Thank you for the perspective!

#back2bayZITS @cuchira catch-up. This is Urdhva Mukha Svanasana, upward facing dog. This is still a relatively new pose for me (least in the last few years) so finding thst sweet spot and length at the same time is wonderful. I was comparing my photos and this one definitely had more length to it. I was surprised by how much, too.

#back2bayZITS @cuchira catch-up. This is Bhujangasana,  cobra pose. I always have to remind myself to not be a tight ass in this pose. And I usually try to push my pinky side of my feet into the ground which helps with the glutes being active.

@fitmommy4life tagged me to play today. So for my #stopdropandyoga I chose the standing half splits. This felt good. May not look the prettiest, but keeping my lifted leg that high and straight is progress. Woot! Thanks for getting me to #strikeapose today, girl! #yoga

We found a lamp by the dumpster thst wasn’t too hot. Dave took it and refurbished it. It now has brass accents with a brown textured paint on it and we got this lamp shade from Ross. Now it’s a fucking awesome lamp. He keeps bragging about it  hahaha #diy #myfiancéisahandyman

Dinner tonight. My fiancé made it from scratch,  guys. Tomatoes and onions from my dad’s garden. Fresh garlic, oregano, and basil. And meatballs he made by hand. I think I may have burned my tongue on one of those bad boys. So good. So good. =]

Guys, I just finished up my first day of #yinyoga #teachertraining at @balayoga. I now know the reasons why yin yoga is important,  what sets it apart from other yoga practices,  and why everyone needs to do it. Tomorrow we will learn some poses that we’ll have to practice teaching over the next week. Eek this is so new and intriguing! #yoga
